Ed Cook Tree Service is locally owned and operated by myself and my wife, Susan Cook, and has been proudly serving the South Lake Tahoe area since 1980. We have lived here for over 40 years and are thrilled to be able to call Tahoe, “home” for our family. I am a second generation tree service professional and have been felling trees for over 30 years. Our crew is very experienced as well, their tenure with us ranges from 8 to 15 years and all the guys live with their families in South Lake Tahoe as well. I began my career in logging and moved to tree service when we began our family. Since then, we have tried to grow our business slowly by purchasing the best equipment and hiring the right people to work in this ever changing environment and economy. Our biggest asset is our employees. They are truly our friends and family and we do everything in our power to keep them safe and happily employed. We have chosen to focus our efforts thus far to just the south shore and surrounding area as it is important for me to be part of every job we complete.
We provide many services, which include tree removal, branch chipping, tree trimming, stump grinding, lot clearing, and defensible space to all residential, commercial, and government agencies. Occasionally we even get to cut new ski runs. We are the largest tree service in the area and have removed more trees than all other south shore tree services combined. Since we are the only tree service at the lake to own a crane, we are the first choice when it comes to the removal of hazardous trees. Thus far we have removed over 5000 trees using the crane. No job is too large or small as we love what we do and are happy to give anyone a free estimate or consultation on the health of their trees.
We are the largest tree service in the area, a defensible space approved contractor, fully licensed and insured and have the hardest working crew around. Thank you for supporting the South Lake Tahoe economy by using local contractors.
