Outdoor Activities
There are several bike rental shops and wonderful bike trails that also can be used for walking. There are horseback rentals at Zephyr Cove and Richmond Camp Grounds. Waterfalls to explore and wonderful hiking trails throughout Lake Tahoe. There are gondola rides to the top of Heavenly Mountain with fun activities available at the top as well as spectacular views. Emerald Bay also has a beautiful waterfall and hiking trails.
South Lake Tahoe
has events and festivals occurring frequently. Camp Richardson has many events that are family-friendly as well as day camp picnic areas. Picnicking is popular and many tables are available in many areas of the lake.
Fallen Leaf Lake is close by and is a small lake destination. It has rentals for water fun including Water Skiing. The west side of the lake has a gift and supply store that also has a yummy snack bar with breakfast, hamburgers, sandwiches, and ice-cream. A spectacular waterfall is close by and wonderful mountain hiking trails.
If it is too hot out, take the kids to our indoor ice skating rink at the Community Center. They can also take lessons.
